About Me

Air Conditioning Options

As you probably know, the Australian summertime can be extremely hot. When I moved to Australia from England, I knew it would be warm, but I wasn't ready for the intense heat. I had bought a home on the outskirts of Sydney. It was a great place but unfortunately, it didn't have an HVAC system. I moved in during the winter time, so this wasn't a problem. However, when the weather began to warm up, the interior of my home became very uncomfortable. I called in an HVAC contractor who explained my options before installing a modern HVAC system which keeps my house nice and cool.

5 Reasons to Upgrade Your Home Heating and Cooling System

by Herminia Lopez

If your home heating and cooling system are very old, then replacing it could bring many benefits to your life. The next time your system breaks down, consider whether you should install a new system rather than repairing the old one. Here are some reasons why replacement is such a good idea.

1. Enjoy Better Heating and Cooling

Modern HVAC systems have great abilities to heat and cool your home. The heating and cooling effect is usually much faster than what you are used to with an old system. As such, you might find that a new system is better able to stand up to heatwave temperatures than an older one that was designed for the climate of decades ago.

2. Lower Your Heating and Cooling Bills

Although there is a price associated with the installation of a new heating and cooling system, you could see a reduction in your ongoing costs. Modern systems are typically much more efficient than older ones, which means that they use less energy to deliver the same amount of heating. Over time, you could end up saving a lot of money on electricity.

3. Spend Less on Repairs

Very old heating and cooling systems often break down. Every time that happens, you need to call out an HVAC repair service, pay the cost of repair and put up with not being able to heat or cool your home until the system is fixed. Getting a new system is not a guarantee that you will never experience another system failure, but typically you can expect the reliability to be much better. Over time, the lower maintenance costs could make your financial investment in a new heating and cooling system pay off.

4. Improve Air Quality

Modern heating and cooling systems have advanced filters that remove a large range of indoor air pollutants from the air that circulates in your home. For example, they can get rid of pet hair, pollen, dust and other harmful particulates, some of which can trigger allergy or asthma symptoms in sensitive people. You might find that some members of your family can breathe a little easier after you upgrade your heating and cooling system.

5. Protect the Planet

The increased efficiency of new heating and cooling systems means that they use less power, which means that your use of the system contributes fewer emissions to the atmosphere. You'll have the satisfaction of knowing that you are doing your bit to protect the environment when you upgrade your system.
